Money decisions matter, so readers need to be able to trust what they read. This page explains how MoneysGuide.com researches, writes, checks and updates its content.
Our goal
Every article should help a reader understand a money topic clearly enough to make their own informed decision. We aim to be accurate, practical, balanced and easy to read, and we avoid hype, jargon and guarantees.
How we research
- We use primary and authoritative sources wherever possible: central banks, financial regulators, government websites, official product documents, company filings and established data providers.
- We link to our main sources so readers can check them.
- We explain how calculations work and show worked examples, so readers can follow the reasoning rather than take our word for it.
- For market outlook articles, we report scheduled events, published analyst views and key price levels. We present these as scenarios, never as certainties.
How we write and check
- Draft: the writer researches the topic and drafts the article in plain English.
- Fact-check: figures, dates, rates, rules and quotes are checked against the original sources before publication.
- Review: the article is read for clarity, balance and accuracy, and checked to make sure risks are explained alongside any potential benefits.
- Publish: each article shows its author and publication date.
We may use software tools, including AI-assisted tools, to help with research, outlining or editing. Every article is reviewed, fact-checked and edited by a person before it is published, and we are responsible for everything we publish.
Keeping content up to date
Interest rates, regulations, fees and products change often. We review our most important guides regularly and update them when information changes. When we make a significant update, we change the “last updated” date on the article.
Corrections
If we get something wrong, we fix it. If you spot an error, email info@moneysguide.com with the page and the issue. We review every report, correct confirmed errors promptly and, for significant corrections, note the change on the article.
Independence and advertising
- MoneysGuide is funded by advertising, including Google AdSense.
- Advertisers have no influence over what we write, which topics we cover or what our articles say.
- We do not accept payment in exchange for positive coverage.
- If we ever publish sponsored content or use affiliate links, they will be clearly labelled.
Education, not advice
Our content is educational and is not personal financial advice. We explain options and their risks, but we do not tell readers what to buy or sell. See our Financial Disclaimer for more.
