Revolut cofounder and CEO Nik Storonsky has been sued by a luxury yacht broker, according to reports, who claims he avoided paying commission on a €350m superyacht.
Cecil Wright & Partners submitted the claim in London’s High Court in January of this year, according to court documents seen by the Financial Times.
The broker was initially approached by an adviser of Storonsky’s family office to help build a yacht in October 2024 then asked last year if there was a boat they could buy in the interim.
A 102-metre boat fitted with an infinity pool, beach club and a gym with a cryotherapy chamber built by German shipbuilding company Lürssen was suggested by Cecil Wright.
The brokerage’s founder Chris Cecil-Wright was then informed in January that Storonsky had bought the yacht directly from the seller, former Canadian hockey player Patrick Dovigi. Cecil Wright is claiming it is entitled to a 5% commission on the sale.
A spokesperson for Storonsky’s family office said: “We’re aware of the claim. It’s without merit and will be defended. As it’s now a legal matter we won’t be commenting further.”
Cecil Wright declined to comment.
